Hygiene Section Leader- Bakkavor Meals Spalding
Salary: up to £29000 depending on experience
Location: West Marsh Road, Spalding
Contract Type: Permanent

Shift pattern: Days – 6am – 6pm (3s & 2s).
Bakkavor is one of the leading providers of fresh prepared food in the UK, with an international presence in the US and China. Our 19,000 employees operate from 39 locations, developing and producing innovative food for a wide variety of occasions and budgets. In the UK, we work with leading grocery retailers, focusing on their own label brands.
Bakkavor Spalding has three factories based on the same site in Spalding, Lincolnshire, employing over 1,000 people. These production units produce soups, sauces, dips as part of our meals range as well as salad accompaniments such as pasta salads, sandwich wraps and food to go salads. Our Spalding site are looking to recruit a Hygiene Section Leader to manage the dayshift Hygiene department, reporting into the Hygiene Manager.
Job Accountabilities
- Health & Safety: Lead by example by ensuring established standards of hygiene, quality and safety are met. Ensure that team members are wearing correct PPE.
- Performance Management: Manage performance and attendance of the team including absence management, return to work procedures, disciplinaries, etc.
- Quality Standards: Ensure shift audits are carried out daily; report deviations from acceptable standards during shift handovers.
- Continuous Improvement: Ensure delivery of agreed KPIs within the area through the team. Identify resource requirements and escalate to Hygiene Managers.
- Responsible for managing a team: Team communication, training, recruitment, coaching and online supervision, including RTWs.
About You
In this role, you will have line management of 31operatives therefore previous experience as a Line Leader or similar will be beneficial. You will have experience working in a factory/manufacturing environment in a Hygiene role.
