Role Overview & Responsibilities

To work with Age UK clients to provide basic garden maintenance - to include:

• lawn cutting
• weeding
• pruning
• planting
• general tidying and more

Work will be within Worcester City, The Malverns and surrounding areas.

Level of work will depend on the number of clients requiring this service. A set number of hours cannot be guaranteed.

The post holders will be experienced gardeners but not necessarily have had previous paid gardening employment.

Character references will be required.

The post holders will be:

• Able and comfortable with communicating with Age UK clients and treat them with respect and regard for any issues or frailties they may have
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Able to manage their own workload
• Able to determine the nature of the work required
• Able to keep accurate records of the work undertaken
• Capable of carrying out work in a safe and proper manner
• Responsible for their own health and safety
• Responsible for reporting back to Age UK Coordinator any concerns regarding clients

The clients and job sheets will be provided by the Coordinator. Gardeners should have access to their own transport with a full driving licence, business car insurance, MOT & tax

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: £12.80 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Work will be outside but social distancing must be practised and when in contact with clients face masks must be worn.
