Environmental & Sustainability - Placement

Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Placement Student will be required to integrate into our Environmental and Sustainability Team and assist in a wide range of activities relating to the current environmental portfolio and projects.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work towards reducing our carbon footprint and increasing annual targets for carbon reduction. This will require problem solving and idea generation to think of alternative ways of doing things.
• Ensure we identify and demonstrate compliance with all environmental legislation in NI including identifying new legislation that is likely to be implemented in the future.
• Help manage and track our energy costs and usage and help identify and manage project work aimed at reducing our energy use. This will require interpersonal and teamwork planning, evaluating work; recognising, respecting and evaluating views and opinions; reflecting and evaluating performance.
• Identify efficiencies in major utilities - gas, water and electricity incorporating rendering facilities, steam systems, hot water reduction, refrigeration and compressed air systems.

In addition individuals should be:

• Currently studying a related degree
• Passionate about working in the food industry
• Analytical in their approach
• Great communicators with an ability to influence others
• Keen on detail
• Highly computer literate
• Hold a full UK driving licence
