Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Transport Coordinator to join us on a full-time, 15 month initial contract with the goal to go permanent after completing your apprenticeship. You would be based at our Wavin customer site based in Chippenham. The role would be Monday-Friday, working on the day shift. This is a blended workplace apprenticeship programme and you will receive the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Transport Supervisor Apprenticeship
  • Management CPC


Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £23,000. We offer 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and you’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.


What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Act as the main point of contact to both our drivers and customers, effectively dealing with any issues as they come up
  • Carry out driver debriefs, and liaise with the compliance and training teams.
  • Carry out administrative tasks as directed by your manager, such as collating customer POD (Proof of Delivery) documents.
  • Escalate details of vehicle accidents, defects or any fleet issues to senior management
  • Develop knowledge of Paragon Planning through direct mentoring with an experienced Transport Planner.
  • By the end of your apprenticeship you will be competent in all areas of a transport operation.


What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Individuals must achieve level 1 in Maths and English prior to taking the End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship.
  • Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders
  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
