Role Overview & Responsibilities

WMS are seeking to appoint a Contracts Manager to work within our team based in Bideford, covering the North Devon area.

WMS Ltd are a property maintenance & construction company based throughout the Southwest with offices in Bideford, Yeovil, Redruth and Chudleigh. We carry out contracts for both Public and Private sectors throughout the southwest of England.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be the following:

· Visiting properties & Premises in the North Devon region to assess what works are required

· Day-to-day management of works including planning works using direct labour and sub-contractors

· Managing and delivering various sized projects varying in value from £5k - £500k

· Surveying of works and providing quotations to clients

· Signing off completed projects

· To invoice clients in an accurate and timely manner

· To liaise with other contracts staff to organise labour and materials

· Signing off operative’s timesheets and sub-contractor invoices

· To organise and host regular team talks

· Taking regular telephone calls to organise works etc.

· Liaising with residents and clients to organise works

· Use of company IT equipment

· Conduct site inspections and compile written reports

· Ensure operatives are working in a safe manner and adhering to H&S guidelines is of utmost importance. You will be supported by our in-house H&S Team.

Who we are looking for:

· An experienced manager in refurbishment and development sections within the industry

· A Manager that can deliver multiple contracts for various clients

· An excellent attitude towards work.

· A hard-working work ethic.

· A team player but able to work under own initiative.

· Customer & Client focused with an outgoing, friendly and positive attitude.

· Excellent communication skills

Qualifications, knowledge and experience:

· Full valid UK driver’s license with willingness to drive across the entirety of North Devon

· Have a proactive approach to both our company and the client.

· Smart and presentable with excellent time management skills

· Outstanding attitude to Health and Safety with good working knowledge of H&S regulations. SMSTS qualification would be desirable but not essential as this could be provided for the right candidate

· Management qualification such as NVQ in Construction Contract Management desirable. Not essential as this could be provided for the right candidate.

· Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is essential.

· Experienced in collating valuations for clients is essential.

· A trade background would be desirable but not essential.

A DBS check will need to be completed upon appointment. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications already held.
