Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Head of Research and Development role is pivotal to the
development, implementation and delivery of University Hospitals Dorset
NHS Foundation Trust’s Research Strategic Plan and annual business
plan.

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital. Please note you will be expected to work across site.

Interview Date: 24th April 2023

• Managing and developing an effective research and development

department, to facilitate, strengthen and optimise the delivery of high quality clinical research within the trust.

• Providing UHD with research and development advice to inform best

practice in delivering portfolio and commercial research and development activity.

• Responsible for the monitoring of research and development

activity within UHD and link with R&D colleagues internally and across the wider R&D network
