This role is based in Newcastle and will involve national travel



The job in a nutshell

  • You will carry out plumbing remedial work nationally across the Travelodge estate.
  • Contribute to Travelodge’s overall “Better future” sustainability plan
  • You will be part of a small, friendly focussed team delivering real benefits every day for Travelodge and the environment.
  • Observe safe working practices and comply with all health & safety legislation.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the hotel operations teams ensuring that the customer is the key focus.


What you’ll be doing


  • As a Water Efficiency Plumber you will carry out wastage repairs to internal appliances such as toilets, valves and overflows. Take water meter readings and investigate internal and external leaks.
  • Drive and maintain strong relationships with the hotel operations team in line with our values.
  • To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety, other relevant legislation and Travelodge policies and procedures and H&S responsibility for direct reports. Ensure that PPE is used as required.


What we’ll expect from you


To succeed in the role, you’ll be comfortable working at pace, under pressure and the ability to communicate effectively with hotel teams, customers and suppliers is critical.


As well as this you’ll demonstrate the following key skills:


Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 Plumbing or equivalent
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to stay away during the working week, up to 4 nights
  • An interest in sustainability
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Drive and determination to continuously improve.
  • High levels of customer insight and brand passion.
  • Good communication skills, both internally and with suppliers and 3rd parties
  • IT and systems literate.
  • Good level of personal impact and confidence.
  • Ability to carry out physical work.


Desirable:

  • Experience of working within a hotel environment would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience of time and stock management
