Finance Assistant, West London – Up to £28,000
An independent arts higher education organisation are looking for an ambitious junior accountant to join their growing team. The finance function is going through a transformation, with a real focus on improving processes and efficiencies, and so need an adaptable candidate to get on board and help with this change. You will be an aspiring accountant, either a graduate, or junior with some experience, looking to complete a professional qualification. The role will be responsible for AR and credit control but also has some responsibilities assisting with management accounts and year end.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that receipts are promptly, accurately and fully recorded in both Netsuite and internal systems, posting intercompany journals where required
- Take ownership of the Credit Control on a regular cycle, escalating to other departments if necessary
- Daily management of shared inbox - answering queries from students and other stakeholders
- Weekly bank reconciliations by working day 3 each month, match payments to the correct payees.
- Assist with month end and statutory accounts prep duties when required
- Assist with sales and purchase ledger transaction postings when needed
- To clearly document and communicate processes with training where necessary, and to continually improve processes to enhance business performance.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant degree in Accounting/Business/Maths etc.
- Keen interest in completing a professional qualification
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Ideally have some experience using a finance system, Netsuite in particular
- Team player qualities, adaptable and eager to learn
- Possess fantastic time management skills and able to work to strict deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer focused (internal and external stakeholders)
