Role Overview & Responsibilities

Do you want to work in a role where you can support people on their journey to recovery?
St Mungo’s Assertive Contact and Engagement (ACE) Service works with people with mental health needs who face barriers to support, and are not actively engaged with other mental health services. We operate across Bristol, running a variety of services including therapeutic groups and drop-ins as well as community outreach. The project reflects the diversity of Bristol and reaches people and communities that may have had difficulty accessing services that fully meet their needs in the past.
We are launching a new service for those who are homeless, who have substance use issues and mental health needs. The service will offer therapeutic support for those who would struggle to access mainstream psychological interventions. The Engagement Worker will make sure than clients are able to make the most of the opportunity and are linked in with other services.
About you
We are looking for someone with experience of working in high quality outcome focused services who has a passion for supporting people in a positive, individual manner to engage in their recovery.

  • We believe in lived experience; we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have the ability to use their own experience to provide encouraging; empathetic and consistent support to vulnerable people, or you may have understanding and knowledge of relevant mental health services and other local services available.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to network and build effective relationships with a variety of different people will also be beneficial.
