Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual as a research assistant. The post is funded by the British Heart Foundation. The holder will be mainly analyzing cheek smears as a prognostic test for children with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy. You will join a principle investigator with a strong interest in the diagnosis and prevention of unheralded death in the young.


Key attributes of the successful applicant include:

  • MCS/MRes or BSc (2i and higher) in biological sciences.
  • Prior experience in a basic science laboratory
  • Accurate worker and high attention to detail
  • High level of organisation to manage a high volume of work and priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and personal initiative to solve problems with ability to work unsupervised
