HGV Technician

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Simon Gibson Transport is a nationwide bulk tanker haulage company, operating from a network of various depots across the UK, An established family run business founded in 2000.

Job Role

The successful candidate will maintain and repair Heavy Goods Vehicles to a high standard to comply with DVSA standards. Powder tank experience would be preferable but not necessary as in house training can be provided from our experienced team.

The successful candidate’s role will be to inspect, service and repair HGV’S & Powder Tankers to a high standard. Able to diagnose & repair faults with our range of diagnostics equipment (Volvo Tech Tool & TEXA)

The successful candidate will work well within a team and as an individual, work efficiently and be flexible as per the business needs.

Requirements

· High level of enthusiasm & good communication skills

· Technical background /experience in Powder Tankers preferable

· City & Guilds / NVQ 3 Certificates or equivalent qualifications & experience

• Driving licence (additional HGV licence would be an advantage, but not essential)
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Team player
• Ability to use own initiative
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving skills
• Inspect vehicles to a high standard for Mot as per DVSA guidelines
• Have good knowledge of the DVSA guide to Road worthiness

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours

Week 1 – 7am – 5pm (All breaks are paid providing times are adhered to 15 min Morning & 30 Min Lunch)

Week 2 8am – 6pm(All breaks are paid providing times are adhered to 15 min Morning & 30 Min Lunch)

£35,000 - £43,000 OTE Dependant on Experience & Qualifications.
