Role Overview & Responsibilities

Penally Abbey is an independently run 12-bedroom boutique hotel by the sea in South Pembrokeshire. The Boissevain family took over the hotel back in 2014 and have spent the past 8 years extensively renovating the beautiful building. We are incredibly proud of our brilliant, hard-working team who bring our vision to create a relaxed, cosy hotel by the sea to life.

The hotel is now fully reopened after being closed for over a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as a major fire. The cleanliness of the whole hotel is our primary focus for both our guest and staff's safety.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring all bedrooms, bathrooms and public spaces at the hotel are fresh, clean and look lovely ready for guests arriving and guests staying.
• Working quickly and efficiently without disturbing guests.
• Closely following all safety and sanitation procedures throughout the hotel.
• Working closely with the hotel reception team to ensure guest requests are met and their expectations exceeded.
• Liaising with reception to let them know when rooms are ready for check-ins.
• Assisting all departments within the hotel to maintain exceptional levels of cleanliness.
• Laundry duties including cleaning, drying and pressing all linen.
• Ensuring all laundry machinery is well looked after and used safely.
• Working closely with Kelly (head housekeeper) and Mel (owner) to ensure all products used in rooms and for cleaning are fully stocked.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and energetic person to join our housekeeping team.

Essential:

• Fantastic organisational skills
• Excellent communication within a team – the role requires working closely with both the reception team and to ensure guest requests are carried out.
• A good problem solver and have great initiative to sort out any issues that may arise.
• Very reliable and responsible
• Strong attention to detail
• Hardworking

Experience:

• Previous housekeeping experience is desirable but not essential.

A strong work ethic, a can-do attitude and someone who thrives in an environment where attention to detail is important is crucial for the role.

Penally Abbey is located just 5 minutes from Tenby in the pretty little village of Penally.

Hours:

Either:

1) min 16 hours a week

2) max 25 hours per week

Will include weekends: rotas can be arranged so that everyone is able to have every other weekend off.

Shifts: usually from 8.30am - 3pm

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £10.50-£11.80 per hour
