Graduate Commissioning Engineer

Sheffield, South Yorkshire

THE COMPANY:

Our client are experts in data acquisition, signal processing, control, and automated test solutions.

They offer flexible application-focused engineering design, development, and integration services.

THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will join the team of engineers, performing on site installation and commissioning of company’s systems, cell services and safety systems whilst interfacing with a variety of hardware devices. A core aspect of this role is the ability to efficiently troubleshoot/debug and resolve issues that are typical with commissioning complex systems.

Further to this the role includes supporting company’s customers' use of the system, both remotely assisting and on site as required. 60% of the support issues will be resolved remotely and 40% onsite with the automotive clients being based mainly in the Midlands belt and expected to be in core working hours with the occasion to stay away but travel regularly.

YOU:


  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Control and Automation, Mechatronics, Robotics, who have Software /Systems experience (equivalent qualifications or experience will be considered)


  • Experience in embedded software development, control systems, LabVIEW/ NI software and hardware platforms are advantageous but not essential.


  • Experience with interfacing and/or integrating different pieces of equipment, preferable test equipment or automotive equipment are advantageous.


  • Ability to debug and solve problems on a range of systems in an efficient manner.


  • Results orientated.


  • A willingness to learn new technologies and skills


  • Flexibility to travel and stay away during working week where required.


  • Must have UK Driving License and own vehicle.


  • It would be desirable if you have relevant work experience e.g. summer placement, Internship
