Housekeeping Assistant - Summer Casual

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for casual Housekeeping Assistants to join Murray Edwards College for our busy summer period starting from 19 June. As this role is required for summer only, this is an ideal role for a student on their summer break.

Murray Edwards College is one of the 31 Colleges in the University of Cambridge. Our iconic modern buildings are set within beautiful, award-winning gardens, and contain the largest collection of modern and contemporary art by women in Europe. We have a variety of events spaces, from intimate dining rooms, to lecture theatres, and the spectacular Dome Dining Hall.

Your role

During the summer holiday, we offer a hotel-style standard of accommodation to summer schools and conference guests. Our Housekeeping team take care of ensuring that high standards of order and cleanliness are maintained throughout the College buildings, and you will be responsible for:

• Daily servicing of guest bedrooms, including the cleaning and re-making of beds
• Cleaning of communal bathrooms, kitchens, corridors and stairs
• You may be required to carry out other duties that may be reasonably required within the remit of this role.

• A good level of spoken English
• Good attention to detail, taking pride in their work.
• A positive, friendly attitude.
• Experience is not necessary; you will receive full training on the job.

Flexibility and hours

• This is a casual contract, meaning you are employed on a zero hour basis, shifts will be arranged with the Head of Department
