Role Overview & Responsibilities

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is delighted to offer a Band 7 First Contact Practitioner (FCP) post. The Trust is working collaboratively with Connect Health to provide First Contact Practitioner services to Brigantes, West Wakefield and Trinity PCNs for patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) problems. We are looking for a motivated, experienced senior physiotherapist with a special interest in MSK conditions to work closely with GPs and the Advanced Practice Physiotherapists in the acute trust. This role is suitable for physiotherapists with significant post graduate experience in the management of patients with MSK conditions.

The FCP will work as an autonomous practitioner using advanced assessment and clinical reasoning skills to assess, diagnose where possible and manage patients with varying musculoskeletal needs and complexity. The role will also include physiotherapy sessions working within the Mid Yorkshire MSK outpatient therapy team.

It is critical that you are a confident and strong communicator with demonstrated IT, organisational and time management skills. Professional development, governance support, training and supervision will be provided, working collaboratively with colleagues in Primary Care and will align to the Health Education England MSK FCP Roadmap. It is preferable to be partaking in or have completed Masters Level study with advance practice/FCP components.

If you have any queries, please email Joe Loftus (FCP Clinical Lead): joseph.loftus@nhs.net
