Role Overview & Responsibilities

This is a tremendous opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic electronics engineer to play a critically important role as TecQuipment continue to drive growth with an exciting range of world-leading products. Part of a small but highly skilled design team you will have high levels of responsibility and visibility and be able to make a real difference to the products and performance of the business, developing in your career whilst being able to really see the impact of your efforts.

The work is varied, interesting and demanding as they expect high standards for quality and performance. With good theoretical and practical technical knowledge, you will be responsible for designing and supporting the manufacture of electronics that are integral to the function and performance of their products.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing solutions to support data acquisition and control of new educational products including: printed circuit board design, development and validation; firmware development and validation; integration with controllers, instrumentation, drives, etc
  • Providing technical support for on-site manufacturing and test to quickly resolve issues and keep production on track to meet customer delivery dates

  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Contract: Full-time, permanent

Requirements

Essential:

  • Degree in Electronics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • 2+ Years commercial electronic design experience, Analogue and Digital Including:
  • Interfacing to instrumentation and transducer signal processing
  • Interfacing to microcontrollers
  • Signal conditioning (filtering, amplification, attenuation etc.)
  • Schematic Capture and PCB Design
  • Understanding PCB assembly and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to build and test prototypes
  • Full product design lifecycle
  • Experience with PIC microcontrollers
  • Knowledge and experience of C & C# programming
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, updates to drawings, bill of materials, manufacturing drawings, PCB manufacturing files etc.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 / IPC Standards
  • Knowledge of design for EMC
  • Familiarity with Low Voltage and EMC directives (CE Marking)
  • Use of MRP/ERP systems to control bill of materials
  • Use of EDA software – Pulsonix (preferred) and Boardmaker
