Horticultural Grower

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Lovania Nurseries Limited is one of the UK's Top 15 Growers, supplying garden centres and retailers on a national scale. We have a very exciting opportunity now open specifically working with perennials, shrubs, alpines and other hardy nursery stock. We wish to recruit a Grower to join the successful team. The individual will be joining a very stable and successful family business with a rich heritage built over 4 generations of growing.

The successful candidate will be a passionate Grower with a good amount of experience and knowledge ideally working with the relevant crops however Junior Growers will be considered. Relevant qualifications are necessary.

Key Responsibilities

· Work as part of a team to ensure excellent plant health

· Determine nutrient and watering/moisture requirements

· Control pests by implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

· Control environmental conditions by regulating humidity, ventilation, and temperature

· Communicate cultural or plant issues to management immediately

· Maintain records of crop activities and observations, including pesticide applications and growth records

· Perform other duties as assigned

Working pattern

· Standard hours are 40 hours (07:00 - 17:00) per week with additional working during peak season, Feb-June

· Weekend work on a rota basis

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £21,000.00-£25,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

Experience:

• Horticulture: 2 years (preferred)
