Role Overview & Responsibilities

About us

Laleham Health and Beauty are a large growing business, operating over three production sites, within the field of toiletries, pharmaceutical, medical device and nutritional. Within the beauty area we cover a range of categories including body care, skincare, hair care and styling. Working with a variety high street retailers and brand owners.

The purpose of this post is to carry out physical and chemical testing of raw materials within the business and release product that has passed QC testing. This post is laboratory based and requires strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Health and Safety Regulations.

This role is based at the facility in Andover but depending on the workload it may be necessary to work from time to time at the site in Alton

Hours: Monday- Friday Variable 37.5 hours

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical and chemical quality testing of raw materials in compliance with relevant SOP’s and Test Methods to ensure conformance to specification
  • Following testing, release raw materials that meet specification from quarantine
  • Raise non-conformances for any raw materials that do not meet specification
  • Record results and data from all testing onto appropriate documentation and/or computer databases
  • Control and maintain all raw material reference standards in accordance with the relevant SOP or customer/regulatory requirement
  • Ensure all samples tested are controlled and retained in accordance with relevant SOPs.
  • Operate and maintain requisite laboratory equipment and instruments and make minor adjustments as required
  • Undertake regular routine calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments as specified in agreed schedules.

Skills Required:

  • Degree in chemistry based subject
  • Good understanding of analytical, in particular, FTIR techniques gained through practical experience
  • Understanding of wet chemistry techniques
