Being a Factory Operative:

Here at JCS Fish Ltd, we provide a variety of roles and work schedules for our staff to suit the best of your needs.

Work Schedules:

• Monday to Friday, 6am – 3pm (Overtime available) with a minimum of 40 hours a week.
• Other fixed time contracts are available if requested.
• Weekend working at 1.25 overtime pay: Alternate Saturdays.

You will be working in the factory environment, preparing salmon products on the fresh side, frozen side, or smokehouse side.

Available roles include:

• Knife Work.
• Pin-boning.
• Skinning.
• Packing.
• Bandsaw Work.
• Smoking Fish.
• Labouring.

As part of your role you are expected to have a “clean as you go” attitude to assist with housekeeping duties of the factory and site at all times.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a factory operative would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be given!
• Manual handling experience due to all existing roles being physical.
• Knowledge of Food Safety and Hygiene practices is beneficial but not essential as full training is provided!

• Yes! Once you have been invited to site to do an induction (depending on the time), you are able to start the same day.

• We do! We can offer hours that suit your needs the most!

“I have experience working with fish but not specifically salmon, is this okay?”

• Yes! All staff are trained with the appropriate practices of handling salmon products.

“Is it weekly or monthly pay?”

• Weekly! You will be paid every Friday in arrears.
