Role Overview & Responsibilities

IRecruit are seeking an experienced Fabricator and Welder who can Fabricate and Weld to a high standard on behalf of one of our clients based in Armthorpe, Doncaster (DN3). This is a permanent position!

Working Hours: Mon – Thurs 08.00am – 17.00pm, Friday 08.00am – 16.30pm.

Rate of Pay (Hourly): £11-12.50 with a monthly attendance bonus of £80

The right candidate must:

  • Have ‘City and Guilds’ in Fabricating / Welding or have the relevant experience in this sector.
  • The use of hand, power, and precision measuring tools is a necessity in this role. The Fabricator /Welder will be required to fabricate mild steel and stainless steelwork with the use of drawings.
  • The fabricator / welder will be expected to be able to ‘set up’ the equipment used to allow for the different types of materials used.
  • Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations with required PPE. Responsible for carrying out daily checks on equipment used

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to Fabricate and Weld.
  • Perform safety-related functions.
  • Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).
  • Demonstrate basic engineering mechanical knowledge
  • Competent in welding techniques.
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot.
  • Must be physically capable of performing work.
  • Proficient in understanding and reading drawings.
  • To work as part of a team of skilled trade workers.
  • Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast-paced.
  • Be pro active and have a positive attitude
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area Regularly perform repetitive tasks
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds or relevant experience.
  • Apprentice trained in engineering.
  • EITB Qualification
  • Welding Qualification.
  • Fabrication Qualification.
  • Level 2 diploma or a level 3 diploma in engineering.
  • Full driving licence
  • Experience with how to implement safe working practices.
  • Health & Safety qualifications preferred.

Salary: £11.00-£12.50 per hour
