Job Title: Steel Fixer

Salary: £23 per hour

We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers to join our construction team in Maple Cross, London. If you have a CSCS Card and previous steel fixing experience, this is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and be part of a dynamic and growing organization.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret construction drawings and plans to determine the layout and positioning of steel reinforcement.
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars or mesh to required specifications using hand and power tools.
• Assemble and position steel reinforcement bars or mesh in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Secure steel bars or mesh in concrete forms using wire, concrete clips, or other appropriate methods.
• Set up and operate equipment such as shears, benders, and welding machines as necessary.
• Inspect and repair existing steel structures as directed.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
• Report any issues or concerns regarding materials, equipment, or site conditions to the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS Card for Steel Fixer.
• Previous experience as a Steel Fixer in a construction environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and plans.
• Strong knowledge of steel fixing techniques and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labour.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid right to work in the United Kingdom.
