Role Overview & Responsibilities
The preceptorship programme is designed to enhance a newly qualified midwives skills to ensure the development of her or his own skills and future midwifery career.
Your experience will ensure that you provide a high standard of care to mothers and their relatives/carers. This in turn will be supported by our well established and robust in-house training programmes alongside an approachable team of professional midwifery advocates.
As a member of our team you will be professional, safe and compassionate for women, babies and their families. You will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team in an environment that is open, supportive and empowering.
Band 5/preceptee midwife – for those who are newly qualified, our 6- 12 month preceptorship programme will support you through your transition.
Our maternity services provide care for approximately 4,800 women and their families each year. We offer a variety of birth choices for our diverse population and have dedicated care pathways supported by a team of specialist midwives and a level 2 neonatal unit.
At Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, we pride ourselves in the high standard of care that we deliver to our women and their families. Approximately 20% of our babies are born in midwife led settings and our ambition is to increase this further by supporting women to birth in a setting of their preference.
We positively promote flexible working practices, and ensure that our workforce reflects the population we serve. An onsite subsidised childcare facility is available and parking is available on all Trust sites.
