Directorate: People Services
Hours: 37 hours a week
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: The Council House, Corporation Street, Derby


We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with mental health experience to join our service. You will assist with the provision of support to Service Users who are seeking to develop their skills and abilities to live independent lives, building on their own strengths, goals and social capital.


Applicants must have experience of working with people with mental health conditions/vulnerable adults/people with physical disabilities or in any comparable setting or as a carer. You will have experience of promoting social justice and self-determination and be able to support people to build personal resilience to develop and sustain a good life.


Our service is committed to safeguarding and promoting positive change for the lives of adult’s receiving mental health support. As a member of the team, the post holder will be required to share this commitment and vision.


The successful candidate will be a part of the Specialist Mental Health Service and will also be required to work closely with partner agencies across the Public, Private, Voluntary and Independent Sectors.


As part of our safer recruitment checks the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
