Role Overview & Responsibilities

Introduction

Our client is an industry leading prime supplier to the Defence industry! They are looking for a Safety Consultant to provide guidance and direction in the development of safety management solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in the Aerospace & Defence industries along with experience in the implementation of Safety Management Systems

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week and travel to client sites when required.

Due to the nature of the role, you must hold an active SC clearance to apply.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide guidance in the development of safety management solutions.
  • Lead safety management assignments.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Support sales and provide assurance for work undertaken by project teams.
  • Assess future needs to support the development of capability.
Skills & experience
  • Sound understanding of the Aerospace & Defence markets.
  • Experience in the implementation of Safety Management Systems.
  • Ability to develop proposals and provide technical assurance.
  • Develop innovative Safety Management solutions to support operations.
  • Interrogate data systems to assess safety performance and risks.
  • Proven track record of developing Safety Management solutions at enterprise, platform or system level.
  • Working Knowledge of Industry and Defence Standards such as Def Stan 00-056, Defence Safety Authority Regulations (various) in particular DSA02-DMR, Lloyd’s Register’s Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Naval Ships and ANEP-77.
  • Practitioner within Safety Critical Systems Engineering.
