CAD Drafter/Drawer - Metal Fabrication Shop

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Corporate Office is located in Stockton, California.

We are in need of motivated individuals to grow with our Submittals Team within our Construction Group.

We are interested in hearing from:

• Experienced drafters
• Entry Level AutoCAD users

Responsibilities and duties:

The qualified applicants will be asked to create fence, gate and shop fabrication drawings:

• Proficient in fence drafting software
• Produce shop drawings with fencing plans
• Work with multiple project managers and field staff
• Read and interpret structural contract documents
• Write and interpret RFIs
• Collaboration with vendors and sub-contractors, per contract items
• Create layouts, templates, embed, column, beam, and hardware drawings for projects
• Working on multiple projects simultaneously (Daily)
• Flush out changes and revisions to report cost impact to project managers
• Working knowledge of misc. steel materials, construction, and fabrication
• Must have high level knowledge of basic computer use

• Punctual and good work ethic
• Valid California driver’s license to, occasionally, travel to job sites for field dimensions/verification
• Create final submittal package in compliance with contract documents and specifications
• Respond to shop inquiries to detailed drawings and material use

Qualifications and skills:

A candidate will need qualifications in design, computer-aided drafting software, and general construction knowledge.

• Proficiency in mathematics and geometry
• Ability to read exterior construction drawings
• Ability to read and write Requests For Information (RFI)
• Possess a general knowledge of construction
• Basic engineering skills are an advantage for the candidate
• Good verbal and written communication with peers and customers
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook preferred
• US citizen or equivalent required
• No contract work, oversees, or outsourcing

Salary: BASED UPON EXPERIENCE
