Role Overview & Responsibilities

Hours: 40 hours per week flexi, with Hybrid working after settling in period

Salary: £28,000

Location: Islington / Hyde Park


We’re currently searching for a hardworking individual to join our Property Management team. Based in our Islington office, you will be responsible for ensuring that all monies due to clients of Chestertons are paid on time. You should be a confident and decisive individual who is capable of leading from the front. You should be self-motivated, goal oriented and capable of a methodical and determined approach to debt collection. You'll be liaising with fee earners, senior partners and clients, so candidates must have good communication skills, gravitas and charisma.

Main duties:
  • To collect outstanding rent due to clients of Chesterton’s
  • To ensure that the monthly team collection target is met and aged debt is reduced
  • To build and maintain healthy business relationships with all stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Work in partnership with all work colleagues
  • Ownership of all rent collection on ledger
  • Prepare up to date information for weekly ledger reviews
  • Address priority aged debt and have all weekly assigned objectives completed
  • End to end ownership of all overdue items on ledger until cleared
  • To chase all outstanding rents by telephone and emails as appropriate
  • To build internal and external relationships to aid the collection of rent and to address and resolve queries as soon as possible that are preventing payment being made
  • Concise comments to be updated on system and reports to reflect latest current position
  • Provide backup of documentation to support requests from Internal and External clients

Attributes:
  • Excellent Speaking and writing skills
Previous experience as a Credit Controller ideally working within the property sector
  • Confident dealing with people
  • Be approachable, helpful and project positivity!

  • Must thrive on working and delivering consistently high standards under pressure
