Kitchen Assistant (inc basic cooking)

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Bracken Place Day Nursery are looking for a fun, enthusiastic and hard working Kitchen Assistant to join our fantastic team of 25 staff throughout the Kitchen and Children Units. We offer childcare for up to 70 children per day in our beautiful woodland setting in Chilworth, Southampton.

The job is part time hours; 11.30am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Duties:

1. Assisting our Nursery Chef with lunch

2. Clearing up following Lunches and Tea

3. Preparing/Cooking Tea - these are all very basic for example; beans on toast, crumpets, sandwiches, cheese and crackers etc.

4. Some preparation for the next days lunch

5. Laundry

If the right candidate would like extra hours some cleaning duties can be offered but this is only if required and not compulsory for the role.
