Conventional Journeyman Machinist

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Please apply if you are a Conventional Journeyman Machinist that can perform the following tasks: setup a manual lathe, proficient at truing material in a 4 jaw chuck. Familiar with turning and boring long material in a steady rest. Able to hold close tolerances. We are looking for a skilled Conventional Journeyman Machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks.

Skills and Requirements

• Proven experience as a Conventional Journeyman Machinist working on drill presses, lathes, bandsaws, endmills, grinders etc.
• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines.
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
• Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Good at math with analytical abilities
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
