Role Overview & Responsibilities

Alexander’s is an award-winning Grand Café Bar and Terrace, set in a beautiful period building at the top of Skipton High Street. Our piece de resistance is our fabulous terrace & secret garden set beside the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

There’s something for everyone; a tiled parlour for morning coffee & afternoon tea, an elegant bar serving cocktails, craft beers, an extensive gin menu as well as handpicked wines & champagne. We have a stylish theatre kitchen serving up a delectable menu of nibbles, lunches, dinner, afternoon teas. We also host special events with entertainment and have a private dining area.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor to join our Front of House team. As a Supervisor, you should be putting in your own contribution to service to go that extra mile for any customer. Your role is primarily to make each customer feel special and you do everything you can to ensure they have an excellent and memorable experience.

Main responsibilities

· Opening & closing ensuring the building is secured at all times

· Overseeing the use of the opening & closing procedures, ensuring pre-shift briefings when you’re the most senior person on shift, ensuring the changeover points throughout the day are adhered too)

· Staff role modelling & coaching

· Cashing up

· Answering the telephone & handling customer enquiries & bookings

· Following up on bookings, taking deposits & actively seeking to upsell, discuss promotions & motivate the staff to do the same both face to face & over the phone with customers

· Checking bookings are properly set for every shift & that any pre-orders, functions, events or special occasions

This position requires flexibility in working hours. Shift patterns will vary, days, evenings and weekends will be part of the job.
