Combo Van Driver/Warehouse Clerk

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for someone to handle the day to day local van route for SJC Transport, Inc. d/b/a Airgroup. The van route will include a milk run roundtrip from San Jose to Brisbane and back on most days. This job also works in the warehouse receiving freight and logging inventory in a Warehouse Management System when business needs require it.

Driving Duties and Responsibilities:

• Before leaving the dock each morning conduct a safety inspection and ensure the van is safe to drive
• Arrive at customers site with a positive professional attitude
• Review and check the daily manifest/alerts at each stop for accuracy and note discrepancies if needed
• Communicate with dispatch at each stop
• Drive safely obeying all traffic laws
• Report any damage to freight or vehicle immediately
• Track daily miles on driver log each day

Warehouse/Inventory Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive freight from trucks as needed
• Check all paperwork and note any discrepancies on the bill of lading
• Inventory freight that will go into storage using a WMS
• Will be required to pack freight for outbound transfer
• Keep warehouse clean and safe at all times
• Respond to customer requrest to pull inventory as needed
• Prepare freight for outbound transfers daily

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• High School education or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 25 years of age to a maximum of 70 years of age (insurance requirements)
• Authorized to work in US
• At least 3 years of inventory management and warehouse experience required
• 2 years of van/truck driving experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge of smartphones and/or tablets required
• Good communication skills both written and spoken required
• Knowledge of all traffic laws
• Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, rain, hot, or cold temperatures
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs safely
• Ability to work shifts between 8 and 10 hours long
• Possess a positive outgoing attitude
• Forklift Certification will be required
• Must be able to pass a background check and security threat assessment
• Must have a clean DMV

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
