Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Finance team are looking for someone to give general support to the team in their day-to-day administration and accounting tasks. The role would suit someone who is confident in working with numbers and with computers and diligently following clearly defined processes, but is also ready to collaborate and problem solve when the need arises. An appreciation of the workings in a finance office would be useful, but full training and supervision is provided so prior experience is not necessary.


Main responsibilities:


Contributing and supporting the team in undertaking the following tasks:

1. Cash and Bank
  • Reviewing and input of Daily banking to SAGE Accounting System
  • Checking and reconciling of Volunteer Collection Box returns
  • Filing of paying in slips and checking nominal coding


2. Purchase Ledger

  • Coding of invoices and expenses claims and input to SAGE
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and reconciling to supplier statements
  • Dealing with supplier enquiries and prompt resolution of queries


3.Sales Ledger and Credit Control

  • Raising Sales Invoices
  • Issue of Statements
  • Assisting with Stock take


4. General Accounting

  • Input of credit card receipts to SAGE
  • To undertake daily cash counting as required
  • Prompt and accurate filing of all documentation

About you:
  • Confidence in using Microsoft excel
  • Confidence in organisational and time-management skills along with the ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks
  • Can demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident IT and numerical skills, particularly in MS Office, but also able to demonstrate an ability to understand and use other systems
  • Passionate about providing great service to both supporters and colleagues
  • Ability to show initiative and propose solutions to issues identified
