Job Title: Quality Inspector

Location: Derby

Reporting to: Slip Ring Manager

Hours: Monday-Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm (37.5 hours per week)

Rate of Pay: £25,000 - £30,000 (DOE), plus benefits

Start date: Immediate

Aerodyn Ltd. are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector. The successful candidate will be diligent, technically motivated and committed to delivering a high level of customer satisfaction. This new position is part of the company’s ambitious plans for growth and expansion.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, geometric tolerances, process information, ISO standards & BOM’s.
• Ability to communicate with colleagues and sub-contractors as required.
• Ability to use appropriate handheld measuring equipment and/or CMM as required
• Ability to carry out simple electrical testing using a multi-meter would be beneficial.
• Excellent time management.
• Flexible and able to adapt to change.
• Must be highly organised, able to prioritise, multi-task and be self-motivated.
• Must have good attention to detail and a proven ability to work swiftly and accurately to a schedule with a systematic approach.
• Good communication skills
• Must be a team player and have a desire to learn new skills and develop new processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mechanical (dimensional) and visual inspection of components and assemblies at various phases.
• Produce inspection reports as required.
• Record and report non-conformances where applicable.
• Booking into stock, items following successful goods inwards inspection.
• Communicate and co-ordinate with colleagues to meet production needs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering colleagues as well as customers and suppliers.
• On occasion travel may be required at customer sites, both domestic and international.
• Willing to work flexible hours when required.

The opportunity to develop skills through in-house training, at other Aerodyn facilities globally and through recognised training sources, will be available where necessary.
