Role Overview & Responsibilities

Our Transport Operator will be co-ordinating the transport operations of the depot to achieve business objectives and deliver on our value of customer 1st. You’ll be responsible for resourcing and implementing the delivery plan in conjunction with the wider team, utilising company resources, effectively managing vehicle utilisation and ensuring drivers are given clear and precise instructions. This is a full-time permanent position at our Bradfrod site working across a Monday - Friday 13:30pm - 21:30pm. However during peak periods they will be a requiremnt to travel to our Sheffield site based in 25. In return we can offer a generous salary of between £22,000 - £26,000 dependant upon previous experiance.

Skills and responabsilities of our Transport Operator:

  • To ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism
  • To ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line management
  • To ensure that the procedure for damaged deliveries is followed where necessary and escalated to the Customer Service team
  • To operate the ASCG trailer plans
  • To complete customer collection sheets
  • To operate the trailer tracker

What are we looking for in our Transport Operator:

  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous experience within a transport/ logistics organisation
  • Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Working knowledge of driver hours regulations
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
  • Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving
