We are looking for experienced Childrenโs Residential Support Workers looking to work in a three-bed therapeutic childrenโs home looking after young people (7 to 17 years old) with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Salary of up to ยฃ12 per hour, paid sleep ins, and overtime at 1.5x hourly rate available.
Your duties:
- Support the Registered Manager in providing leadership in the home and supporting both the needs of the young people and the Residential Support Workers as their line manager
- Supervise and undertake lead key-working responsibilities, including primary responsibility for overseeing the implementation and adaptation of young peopleโs risk assessments and in house placement and care plan
- Be a positive role model for the young people
- Take responsibility for the safeguarding of young people
- Support Young People with day-to-day routines and education
- Support Young People to take part in activities in the community and go on holiday
- Encourage independence
- Accurately record and update information in care plans
- Develop professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Attend meetings with your team and the young people
- Hold key work sessions with the young people
- Take part in training, development, and regular supervision
What we need from you:
- Be a dedicated team player, committed to helping young people achieve positive outcomes
- You must be over the age of 21
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferable)
- A minimum of two years of experience working in a residential childcare setting
- The flexibility to work on a rota system (mostly 2 days on/4 days off) including sleep ins and overtime where required.
- Strong communication skills with young people, team members and other professionals
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check, along with satisfactory references
